What Is a Cash App Business Account?
A Cash App Business account is an account designed for small-business owners, independent contractors, and entrepreneurs who use Cash App to sell goods or services. It lets a business accept customer payments through its $Cashtag, QR code, payment requests, and other supported Cash App payment features.
Unlike a personal Cash App account, a business account is intended specifically for commercial transactions. Cash App currently charges 2.6% plus $0.15 for payments received from a customer’s Cash App account. Some card and Tap to Pay transactions are subject to a 3% processing fee.
Cash App Business accounts are free to create and do not require separate payment-processing hardware for standard Cash App payments. Depending on the business and account activity, Cash App may collect taxpayer information and issue applicable tax documents. Business owners should maintain accurate records rather than assuming that a payment is not taxable simply because they did not receive a tax form.
