Why Is Cash App Charging Me a Fee to Receive Money From a Business Account?

Cash App generally charges a receiving fee when your account is classified as a Cash App Business account. The fee is based on the receiving account, not simply on whether the sender is a business. Cash App currently charges business accounts 2.6% plus $0.15 for payments received from a customer’s Cash App account. Payments funded through certain cards may be charged a 3% processing fee.

For example, on a $100 Cash App payment subject to the standard business rate, the processing fee would be $2.75, leaving you with $97.25. This fee covers payment processing and business-related Cash App features.

Check your profile settings to see whether your account has been switched to business status. You can also open the individual transaction to review the fee details. Do not switch to a personal account simply to avoid legitimate business fees. Cash App requires payments for goods and services to be handled through its business product when applicable.
