FAQ

What is the difference between markup and margin?

Markup is added to cost. Margin is profit as a share of the price. A 50% markup gives you a 33% margin, not 50%.

What is a standard contractor markup?

Most trade pros use 15–35% markup on materials and 2–3x hourly cost on labor. Charge more if your market supports it.
