Cash App Link: How to Share Your $Cashtag
Cash App makes it easy to send and receive money with a $Cashtag. But when you're running a business, sharing your $Cashtag the right way matters. Here's how to find your link, share it professionally, and avoid common pitfalls.
What Is a $Cashtag?
A $Cashtag is your unique Cash App username. It starts with a dollar sign:
$YourName
Your shareable Cash App link is:
https://cash.app/$YourName
Anyone can click this link to send you money through Cash App.
How to Find Your Cash App Link
- Open the Cash App
- Tap your profile icon (top right)
- Your $Cashtag is displayed on your profile
- Tap it to copy, or tap Share to send it
- Your link is
cash.app/$YourCashtag
How to Share Your Cash App QR Code
- Open Cash App
- Tap the QR code icon on the home screen
- Show the code to someone in person, or screenshot it to share
QR codes work well for in-person payments. For texts and emails, always share the link.
Cash App for Business Payments
Cash App offers a Cash App for Business option that adds:
- A dedicated business profile
- The ability to accept payments with the Cash App card
- 1099-K tax reporting for payments over $600/year
The catch: Cash App for Business charges a 2.75% fee on incoming payments. Personal Cash App transactions are free, but using a personal account for business transactions violates Cash App's terms of service.
Cash App $Cashtag: Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Instant transfers to your Cash App balance | 2.75% fee for business accounts |
| Simple, shareable link | Client must have Cash App installed |
| QR code option for in-person | No automated payment reminders |
| Free for personal (but check TOS) | Less widely used for business vs. Venmo/PayPal |
| Instant deposit available ($0.25-1.5% fee) | Limited dispute resolution |
The Limitation: Not Everyone Uses Cash App
Cash App is popular, but it's not universal for business payments. Many clients prefer:
- Venmo for casual/small business payments
- PayPal for the buyer protection and familiarity
- Zelle for direct bank-to-bank transfers
- Credit card for larger amounts or business expenses
If you only share your $Cashtag, you're excluding everyone who doesn't use the app.
Better: Put Cash App on a Payment Page With All Your Methods
Instead of sending your $Cashtag alone, add it to a payment page that includes everything you accept.
Payable.at lets you create a single page at payable.at/yourname with Cash App, Venmo, PayPal, Zelle, credit card, and more. Clients click one link and choose their preferred method.
The result: more clients pay faster because they're not limited to one app.
